What cover our Insurance Provides

Let’s face it, we can’t predict the future – but we can give you peace of mind whatever happens.

Here’s what’s covered:

  • Personal luggage. Up to £2,000 in total. Single article limit £300. Valuables limit £500 (unless you have chosen to exclude this cover).
  • Loss of passport/driving license. Expenses up to £250.
  • Personal money. Up to £500; Cash up to £250.
  • Medical expenses. Up to £10,000,000 including repatriation.
  • Medical inconvenience benefit. £20 per complete day you are hospitalised up to a maximum of £600.
  • Personal accident. £25,000 for permanent total disablement. £15,000 for accidental death.
  • Personal public liability. Up to £2,000,000.
  • Cancellation or curtailment. Up to £5,000 compensation if you cancel or curtail your holiday due to death, illness, jury service or redundancy.
  • Missed departure. Up to £600 for Europe or up to £1,000 for worldwide for additional accommodation/transport charges as a result of you missing your flight, sailing or train.
  • Delayed luggage*. Up to £150 if your luggage is delayed for 12 hours or more.
  • Legal expenses. Up to £25,000.
  • Travel delay. If your departure is delayed for 12 hours you will receive £20; you will then receive £10 after each additional 12 hour delay, up to a total of £200.
  • Mugging benefit. £100 per 24 hours, up to a maximum of £1,000.

*All policy limits and benefits are per insured person.

And what’s not covered:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions. You must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions suffered by all named persons on the policy or by anyone on whom your trip depends.
  • Hazardous activities. Full details of hazardous activities not covered are provided with your policy documentation. FirstAssist will also be able to advise you if your intended activities are covered.
  • Excesses. You pay the first £50 of any claim for personal luggage, personal money, medical expenses, cancellation and curtailment and winter sports. The medical expenses excess increases to £150 for customers aged 60-79 and £200 for age 80-85.
  • Unattended items. Personal luggage, valuables, passports and money left unattended.
  • Pregnancy and childbirth. Where the pregnancy has exceeded 28 weeks.
  • Self Injury. Suicide and wilful act of self exposure to peril.
  • Contact lenses and dentures. These items are not covered.
  • Your disinclination to travel. Or failure to obtain the required passport or visa.
  • Business equipment. Unless you have selected cover to include business travel (only available under Annual Multi-Trip policies).
  • Optional extras. Unless you have extended cover and paid and additional premium.
