What about the small print?

We hate small print. Just like you do. After all, we’ve nothing to hide. So here, big as you like, are a few things we need to tell you by law. They’re not the most exciting read in the world but they are important because they relate to your rights. Here goes…

Your Policy

Bradford & Bingley is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, offering products from a panel of leading insurers. Your policy will be subject to English law unless you ask for another law in writing and the insurer agrees to this before the start of the cover. You can ask the insurer for details of their compensation agreements at any time. These apply in the event that the insurer goes into liquidation and can’t pay their debts.

What to do if we don’t get it right.

We aim to always provide you with the best service. However, if you have cause for complaint please let us know by calling our helpline on 0870 060 4518. By the way, calls from BT landlines cost a maximum of 7.91p per minute. Other companies’ rates vary. Calls may be monitored and recorded.

If your complaint is not resolved satisfactorily, you have the right to contact The Financial Ombudsman Service, South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.

Insurers pass information to the Claims and Underwriting Register, run by Insurance Database Services Limited (IDS Ltd), to help check information provided and to prevent fraudulent claims. In dealing with your request for insurance we may search the register. If you tell us about an incident, whether or not it leads to a claim, we will pass this information to the register. You can ask for more details about this.
