Learn about Health Insurance
‘What happens if I fall ill, or have an accident?’ Protection isn’t just about covering your life. It’s also about covering your lifestyle. We don’t give it a second thought when we’re working and well. But things can change. And when they do, they can have a huge impact on your finances. How will you pay the bills and the mortgage? But don’t worry, that’s why we’re here to help the worry go away.
What if I get a major illness?
No one likes to think about illness like strokes, heart attacks and cancer. But you can cover yourself to lessen the financial impacts of them. This is called critical illness cover and is designed to take the financial worry away by paying you a lump sum if eligible. This can then be used to cover your medical expenses or replace your lost income. And most importantly, this money can aide your recovery. That’s got to be worth considering, hasn’t it?
What if I can’t work?
This kind of cover is called income protection and does exactly what it says. It replaces your income if you can’t work due to an accident or sickness. This means you won’t have to rely totally upon state benefits which often falls short of what you’ll actually need. And, if your illness or accident stops you from returning to your previous job and you have to get a lower paid alternative, it could top up your salary.
What if I can’t pay my mortgage?
We cover this too. Accident, sickness and unemployment cover takes care of your mortgage payments for a period if you’re made redundant, fall ill or have an accident. We have our own policy for this which is underwritten by St. Andrew’s Insurance plc. Pick up our Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance brochure for details.
Do I need advice?
Not necessarily but there are many different types of protection policies out there so you can’t always be sure that you’re getting the right cover for your needs. Legal & General’s advisers can look at your individual circumstances and advise on the right cover for you.
